Ben Barsky, Intern Therapist

Hello, my name is Ben Barsky (he/him/his), a student therapist currently working towards my master’s in professional counseling at UPenn. I received my BS in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Drexel University and have been living in and out of the Philadelphia region my whole life.

With a background in community-centered work, I view our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions as arising from the layered navigation of different environments. I believe that by understanding all parts of ourselves, we can build a strong foundational identity that can weather the seasons of life. My goal is not for you to only cope but truly live and thrive according to your values and desires.

I am mainly informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-based theories. As a queer man in a mixed-faith, mixed-race family, I welcome all identities and backgrounds into the therapeutic space to collaboratively become more informed, equipped, and aligned as people.

Whether you’re struggling with OCD/anxiety, identity concerns, or life adjustments, I would be honored to support you on your counseling journey and attune to your experience with curiosity, humility, and humor.
